2018 Shortlisted for Found in Translation Award, judged by Institutes of Polish Culture in London and New York, for edited translation of Andrzej Franaszek’s Milosz: A Biography.

2017 – 2018 Visiting Scholar. Gothenburg University, Sweden. Lectures on Poetry and Translation

2015 Fort Foundation Visiting Scholar  in European Studies, Columbus University, Georgia. Courses on Modern Irish Drama and British Literature 1890-1945.

2012 Visiting Professor in Irish Studies  at Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris. Courses on Irish Drama and Troubles’ Fiction and Poetry.

2010-2011: Arts and Humanities Research Council Fellowship. Funding for research on the poetry, drama and translations by Seamus Heaney

2009 -2018: Fellow of the English Association .

2009: Emory University, Atlanta, Short Term Research Fellowship. British Academy Small Research Grant for research in the Heaney archives at Emory University.

2008: British Academy Overseas Conference Grant to attend ACIS Conference in St Ambrose, Davenport, Iowa.

2007: British Council (Hungary) travel grant.  This led to the establishment of a European research network involving universities in Northern Ireland, Hungary, Poland, and Czech Republic.

2005: British Academy Overseas Conference Grant to attend IASIL Conference in Prague,

2004-2007 British Academy award to develop links between UCLan, Charles University Prague, and the University of Ulster

2002-2005: British Council (Poland) research grant to establish an exchange between UCLan and the University of Lódź, Poland, 2002-2005
